We understand how expensive school holidays can be. We have therefore put together a list of local free places to visit – we are lucky that we have some lovely places nearby! Also keep an eye on the weekly bulletin, as we often advertise local events.
Haysden Country Park

Large country park with lakes, nature trails and play area.

Tonbridge Park & Playground
Near Tonbridge High Street, TN9
Playground, skate park, sandpit and large open green space.
Cost: Free.
Tonbridge Castle Grounds

Historic castle grounds perfect for picnics and exploring.
Cost: Grounds free (castle interior ticketed).
Tonbridge Library

Free Rhyme Time, Storytime and children’s events (booking may be required).

Junior Parkrun – Long Mead Park
2km run for children aged 4–14 every Sunday at 9am.
Cost: Free (register online).
Clip N Climb Tonbridge

Indoor climbing centre for children and families.

Tonbridge Miniature Railway

Family Walks
Medway Valley Walk & Tudor Trail – ideal for scooting, cycling and nature spotting.

Free Family Pass for the National Trust
These are available several times a year and give families free entry to National Trust Properties! They are available in several places, including if you purchase the Daily Mirror or the Daily Star or online through InYourArea. Keep a look out for these!
Cost: Free/ the cost of a newspaper.
Aspens - Pembury
As well as the Café and animal farm, Aspens also has beautiful grounds to explore, giant musical instruments, a shady playground and a lovely woodland walk. They also often organise special events during the holidays. Check their website for special events and opening times.
Cost: The site/farm is free entry (donations are very welcome to support their work).
